Custom software company, Orases, has been awarded the 2019 Frederick County Best Place to Work Award in the Small-Medium Employer category.
This is the company’s second nod as Best Place to Work. It also won in 2015, the last time it was eligible based on the organization’s rules that “a winning company cannot win again for three years.”
“Frederick County again acknowledged what we’ve worked hard to achieve,” says Orases President, Nick Damoulakis.
The Frederick County Best Place to Work Awards campaign is in its 17th year and is a county-wide program to increase quality of life opportunities for Frederick County employees.
Orases was chosen based on a variety of criteria, including employee compensation and benefits, business culture, human resource metrics, and special employee engagement programs.
“We’re continually making this place as personally rewarding as it is professionally rewarding,” adds Damoulakis. “To me, one doesn’t happen without the other.”
Orases hosts quarterly giving-back campaigns, provides beyond-the-norm health and wellness initiatives, inspires “member passion” programs, holds lunchtime yoga sessions, and facilitates ongoing training, in addition to summer hours, extensive PTO and vacation, and more.
“We are constantly refining the work/life balance at an individual level so that our team value goes beyond the great code we create.”, says Vice President, Amy Damoulakis.
