Frederick, MD — Orases is honored to accept a Maryland Preservation Award for Excellence in Media and Publications in conjunction with Jean Peterson Design for their collaboration on the Heart of Civil War Heritage Area (HCWHA) website redesign.
The Maryland Preservation Awards were held on March 16, 2015, at the Miller Senate Office Building. The award was presented to HCWHA for its website by the Maryland Historical Trust Board of Trustees. The website (heartofthecivilwar.org), launched in April 2015, was designed by Jean Peterson Design and developed by Orases.
HCWHA is a nonprofit organization which serves the Frederick Heritage Area, Frederick City and County, Washington Co., and Hagerstown, MD and is a subsidiary of the Frederick Department of Tourism. Their new website encourages visitors and residents to learn about and engage with historic resources HCWHA provides. The website’s new design is fully responsive meaning it is compatible with multi-user devices. One of the website’s most impressive features is an interactive map. Other features include a blog, timeline of historic events, event calendar in addition to simple navigation and a refreshed look. HCWHA’s website content can be changed on an as-needed basis with the latest version of 24Watch Business Suite.
“It is an honor to have our work recognized by The Maryland Historical Trust,” Account Representative Kathryn Zoulias stated. “I am proud to be a part the talented and experienced team who worked on this project. We are very excited to have received this award.”
