The Challenge
Mapping the product to the goals and mission statement
IEC is dedicated to the success and advancement of its merit shop members and the independent electrical and systems contracting industry. Guided by the principles of integrity, excellence, and collaboration, they strive to advocate for the independent electrical industry in the U.S.; provide premier education and resources; grow our resources and membership to maintain a dynamic industry association; and recognize excellence in the electrical and systems contracting industry.
IEC’s website was outdated in look and feel and was challenging for general users and members to find the information they needed. The website was in need of a more modern, intuitive design and the ability to provide users and members relevant information and ways to connect.
Solution
A modern website and member portal redesign
Orases worked with IEC and their graphic design vendor Think Baseline to create a modern, cleanly designed website with improved navigation, and the searchability and presentation of information to IEC members and general users in a streamlined, consistent and useful manner.
The new site also features a content management system that enables IEC administrator users to easily modify and manage content pages, events, chapters, navigation, forms and more.
The site integrates with IEC’s association management and credentialing software, ACGI, so that members can log in and access their membership information and access locked members-only content. Site users can also now locate their local chapters via the Find a Chapter map and search functionality.
This was a hybrid process. The client provided high level requirements up front. After initial discovery, we moved into an agile sprint cycle with discovery, development, QA and delivery occurring concurrently.
The client wished to adhere to a specific budget, so as the project progressed, it was an ongoing process to re-evaluate and reprioritize desired requirements and limit affects to the overall scope, schedule and budget. IEC also requested that Orases manage IEC’s graphic design vendor Think Baseline as part of the project.
