To streamline their processes, SOS had an idea for a completely custom software solution. Before coming to us, they did a lot of upfront research and work so they knew exactly what they needed.
They had a strict budget and timeline, and an idea that included two separate pieces of software. To stay within the budget and time requirements, we worked with them to narrow their focus to a single progressive web application that would help drivers inspect their trailers and equipment.

Through SOS’s initial research and our discovery phase of the product, we narrowed this project’s focus to one initial progressive web application called Clear Cut Solutions. The app works as a checklist for drivers to make sure their vehicles and equipment have been properly inspected. The app shows drivers which items need to be checked before they can use the equipment, and as they go through the list, they can pass each line item or report it if an action needs to be taken.
The app also lets them take additional notes and attach pictures, so reports are as thorough as possible. Once they submit the report, it is sent directly to the administrative team, where they can track maintenance, resolve issues in a timely manner, and keep records of the drivers’ inspections. From here, the admin team and auditors can run reports to keep track of equipment maintenance for either a digital copy or a printed report.

Safety On Site is currently rolling out Clear Cut Solutions to their existing customers, but soon they will be using the product to recruit new customers. An unexpected, but exciting, result of the application has been the buy-in from insurance companies. Many companies have been recommending the app to their clients, and some are even offering insurance incentives for using the software. In this industry, insurance premiums are high and can increase if an audit comes back with negative results.
This app is saving companies money because of the lower insurance premiums, and by reducing negative audits. One of the biggest concerns that SOS had was ensuring the app was user-friendly and easy to use. They didn’t want to burden drivers with many more cumbersome steps. We kept the system as simple and intuitive as possible, and as a result, the drivers that have tested the app agreed that it was easy to use and saved them time. We were able to deliver a successful product on time and budget, resulting in a happy client.
