Q&F Tasks Orases With Redesigning Their Website
Creating a brand new website with online instrument rental capabilities.
In 1959, fellow music educators George Quinlan and Tom Fabish joined forces and launched Quinlan & Fabish Music Company. The goal was to assist and guide Chicago area school music programs and students. Nearly 60 years later, the Quinlan family remains dedicated to honoring their father’s guiding principles and legacy.
Now with nine stores throughout three Midwest states, Quinlan & Fabish Music Company remains focused on making it easier for students to participate in Band and Orchestra through outstanding service and community partnerships.

Project Name
Q&F Phase 2 Website Redesign
The Challenge
Identifying areas for improvement
The client’s previous e-commerce store was dated and didn’t support their rental process, which is the bulk of their business. With the Covid-19 pandemic, it was more important than ever that they modernize their online storefront. It took a lot of overhead resources and time to manage the previous website for very little return. Q&F needed to find a way to get a higher ROI on their website and drive more web sales, all within a very tight timeline.
Solution
Deploying a new website and web application
Orases worked with Q&F to create a modern, cleanly designed website that can be managed in their existing Megatool. The new website is able to accommodate web sales, rentals, rental payments, invoice payments, and provides the client with multiple site templates to manage their specialty shops. Customers can sign in to their account to view open invoices and make payments. The new site is integrated to the client’s inventory systems as well to keep all of their systems aligned and up to date.
For this project, Orases used an Agile development process known as the critical path approach. By knowing the critical path, Orases was able to keep the scope of the project focused to the items that needed to be done to deliver the site as soon as possible and to keep the clients goals at the center of the development approach.
Results
Pairing musicians with top quality instruments
Quinlan & Fabish Music Company had a very tight timeline so we focused first on their Critical Paths, which included the update of their existing data management tool, a digital rental agreement process, integrations with third parties (for product inventory and pricing, and, payment gateway), and the launch of their brand new mobile-friendly front-end website, e-commerce store and CMS at the Quinlan & Fabish Music Company website. We also delivered the ability for Q&F sales reps to create and manage their own pages on the site that they can use for instrument sales and rental purposes.
